Ross Town Council are looking for feedback from residents who live near or on Bluebell Close about the prospect of a possible new play park.

A survey has been put out asking for residents’ feedback on whether or not they’d like one and if so, what ages should it be geared towards.

The town council have said that Bluebell Close is a prime location in the North Ward with a large area of land currently owned by Herefordshire Council.

If the idea for a new play area is supported, Ross-on-Wye Town Council may be able to lease it or transfer the land from the county council.

In terms of predicting costs, the new play equipment at the Ropewalk cost approximately £70,000, so councillors are expecting this to be something comparable.

The Bluebell play park would be funded by the town council and by any grants they can obtain; the plan is to get the project started in the next two years but it will depend on permission from Herefordshire Council, town council funding, availability of grants, and most importantly, support from the community.
