IN what has been called by police a landmark case, two men have been found guilty at Hereford Magistrate's Court of trespassing at Wye Valley Farm near Ross and with firearm offences and sentenced to four months, suspended for two years.
They were each fined £1,500 costs and their firearms licences were cancelled.
Michael Thomas and David Corbett, of Glamorgan, pleaded not guilty to the offences on December 17th of last year, and Corbett was also charged with searching Wye Valley Farm with the intention of taking, killing or injuring a deer on December 1st 2013, but was found not guilty in court on Tuesday, December 2nd.
The men also had to forfeit shotguns and rifles, walkie talkies, lamps and knives, which were seized at their arrest, and Corbett was disqualified from driving for six months.
