On Thursday, September 7th the residents of Ross East have the chance to make history and elect me as their first Labour councillor. I am proud of the opportunities the town has given me, having been a youth worker in Tudorville and at the Larruperz Centre, and chair of Ross Town Carnival amongst other things.
Contrast this record of community involvement with the damaging effects on community life of seven years of savage Conservative cuts. Similarly, after their dismal General Election performance (3,556 votes to Labour’s nearly 12,000) the LibDems are no longer the main progressive alternative in this area
I would like to bring some new thinking to some of the local issues. I believe the future of Ross lies in its young people and would like to see the Town Council invest in youth provision. Also, with the ongoing issue of parking in the town I have some imaginative plans to try and ease the situation.
I believe very strongly that you don’t cut your way to prosperity, you improve people’s lives by investing in the future. So please give me one more opportunity to help make a better future in Ross, by voting Labour for a change.
