A Ross-on-Wye Town Councillor Jane Roberts has told the Ross Gazette how sad she is that her fellow Councillors were unwilling to exercise appropriate diligence before spending such a large sum for a licence to use the town’s Coat of Arms.
She said:?“I asked for a delay in this vote until March so that the legal advice that persuaded the previous Council not to pay could be circulated. This stated that the law was ‘a grey area’ and Councils were advised not to pay without further investigation.
"Unfortunately, most preferred to take the PR hype of the College of Heralds at face value and hand over £3000+ of Ross-on-Wye’s money with no further questions.”
She is grateful to those Lib Dems who supported her and recommends voting for the Lib Dem candidate in the North Ward by-election, Lynnette Munoz.
