POLLING CARDS for electors in the Ross-on-Wye East and West wards are not being issued for Thursday’s town council by-election.

However, the only electors that will receive ballot papers in the post are postal voters and these have been sent out by Herefordshire Council since Tuesday July 29 providing you have registered for this service. If you’ve not received one, contact the Electoral Services Office on 01432 260107.

To vote just visit the polling station between the hours of 7am and 10pm on Thursday, August 14 and bring an acceptable form of photo ID to the polling station.

Some of the most commonly used ID includes a passport, which must be issued by the UK, an EEA state or a Commonwealth country; a UK driving licence (including provisional) containing a photograph; and European Economic Area photographic ID Card; a•UK Biometric Residence Permit, including e-visas; an identity card bearing the Proof of Age Standards Scheme hologram (Pass card); Defence identity card (Ministry of Defence Form 90); Blue Badge; an Oyster 60+ Card; Herefordshire Council bus pass or disabled person's bus pass.

If you have a form of acceptable photo ID but it is out of date, you can still use it to vote at a polling station if it still looks like you. Photocopies of ID are not accepted.
