Club President Jonathon Preece led the way to success at Stourport regatta this weekend. Jon was rowing with the Vet D Crew of Jeremy Picton Turberville, Peter Kellsal, and Paul Brodholt, with cox, Lucy Jones. Racing against a crew from Holland, they won convincingly over the 500 metres course.
Jon then joined up with club mates, Mike Jones and Phil Palmer, with other oarsmen from Ironbridge RC, to win the Veteran eights. Following Jon's example, the mens IM3 eight with Club captain, Ian Howell, on board and Jeremey Picton Turberville, Matt Taylor, Paul Brodholt, Joe Bunting, Peter Kellsal, Lenny Colling, and Dave Morris, with Morgan Baynham Williams coxing, overcame a strong Warrick crew, and then went on to beat a highly competitive crew from Worcester, by just six feet, in the final.
