Dear Editor,

On Friday, December 15th I withdrew £100 of my heating allowance to buy some ‘goodies’ for Christmas at Morrisons store in Ross-on-Wye.

I had five £20 notes and from these I topped up my mobile phone at the reception desk with £10. I placed the remaining £90 in my handbag and I can only assume that I dropped it when looking for my shopping list. I am disappointed to learn that the money was not handed in, how can anyone be so dishonest?

I am disabled and soon will reach the age of 96 years. I have always lived within my means, I cook from scratch, make my own soup and never buy convenience food. I don’t smoke, drink alcohol or take drugs.

I will ask if I can have the CCTV checked as I only stopped twice to look in my bag and didn’t shop anywhere else other than Morrisons.

Mrs Freda Davey
