MADAM, I write with regard to the letter written by Richard Pope. As a regular customer of the Vine Tree it seems to me that the survival of this Public House does not depend on change of use, it depends on its success as a pub.

For it to have a successful future it needs reliable customers on a regular basis for that to happen in my opinion it needs the support of locals. Then to a greater or lesser extent it makes little difference who owns the pub or what notices are posted. I am aware that the present owners wish to sell for personal and commercial reasons.
