WHAT'S worth queuing outside in the February rain for ten hours for? No, not Harrod's sale, but the great costume sale, held by the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford last weekend. And first in that queue was Jane Hewson, producer with local theatre group Xentricity, who had waited patiently from midnight for the thousands of surplus theatrical costumes, some worn by famous names, that were on offer, with prices ranging from 50p to £450. Several thousand people, each hoping to buy their own piece of theatrical history, were waiting outside the RSC's rehearsal rooms when the doors were opened at 10am.
