Last weekend 10 members of Bridstow Brownies joined over 100 other Brownies, young Guides and their Leaders for an amazing sleepover at RAF Cosford.

After completing a challenge on their arrival, it was off to the Cold War Hangar to find their designated area for setting up their beds.

Then they had an evening of activities - they made parachutes, had fun dressing up, did some ‘spy’ activities - finger prints, code breaking and secret messages, and painted their own missile money box, stencilled designs on cloth bags and used pressure to launch their own missiles!

Then they watched the film ‘Night at the Museum’ before settling themselves down for the night – under a massive Hastings aeroplane.

Breakfast was at 8am followed by an explore around the different hangars.

Brown Owl, Claire Lines, said: “We wish to congratulate Kath who was awarded her Young Leader qualification over the weekend.

“Everyone was given a Pillows and Pilots badge before it was time to head home – very tired, but high on excitement.”

She added: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Herefordshire Girlguiding and staff at RAF Cosford for making this unique experience possible.”
