MADAM, With H&H coaches such a familiar sight in Ross, I was surprised to find no reference in your paper to their owner's death.

It is true that Mike Horlick was and remained a Forester, and I have always understood that a forebear invented, 'Malted Milk' and sold the recipe to America thus founding the family fortune.

But Mike was known and admired for his remarkable and extensive knowledge of roads and routes all over the British Isles. I have heard it said that he was better than 'satnav'.

His driving was always smooth and trouble-free and he often gave accurate and interesting comments on his tours.

He was rightly hero-worshipped by his fellow drivers and will be sadly missed.

Dr Ken Parsons,

Ross
