A local resident who regularly crosses the footbridge between Edde Cross street and the swimming pool car park in Ross-on-Wye was delighted to see that the bridge had been repaired. However, this soon turned to anger when he took a closer look.

He said that whoever paid for the piece of wood shown on the left hand side of the photograph should be ashamed. This is already split. “How long before it needs repairing again?” he asked.

He also told the Ross Gazette that he is concerned about the condition of the footpath which runs alongside the brook.

He said: “It has been repaired but is already crumbling away.”
