Madam, Please could I, through your letters page, appeal for volunteers to help steward the Freedom of the Town ceremony on Saturday, July 13th?

This will be a very prestigious event for Ross and we are anticipating that large crowds of local people will want to turn out to support the Second Battalion Rifles as they receive the Freedom of Ross-on-Wye on behalf of the Regiment.

The freedom allows the Regiment to march through the town, which they will exercise at approximately 3.15pm, following a presentation at The Rope Walk at 2pm.

Stewards will be needed to line the route of the march (as the Rifles are famous for marching faster than any of the other regiments it won't take them long to cover the ground from The Royal Hotel to The Larruperz Centre), control access to designated car parks and offer information to the public.
