The project to improve and develop the children’s play area at the Rope Walk in Ross-on-Wye has been given a new lease of life.
Over the last couple of years, the land ownership has changed from Herefordshire County Council to Ross Town Council. This now means the land is owned by the people of Ross and therefore activities relating to it can be progressed much more easily.
Committee members of the Rope Walk Park project met on Thursday, October 27th for their AGM in order to reignite the activities for project.
Membership of the committee consists of Chair, Lindsey Mclean, Secretary, Richard Mayo, Treasurer, Debbie Brooks. All members are volunteer parents who have a passion to create a ‘destination playground’ for both local, and out of area, families to enjoy.
Chair, Lindsey Mclean told the Ross Gazette: “I am now very excited at the prospect of working with the backing of Ross Town Council to make this plan a reality. The group have been working for a long time and now that the formalities of the land ownership are complete we can progress. There is still a lot of work to be done to raise the large amount of money needed, but I am confident this can be done.”
