Former pupils from the 1940s to the 1980s, some with their partners, met at Llangrove Village Hall on Saturday, July 29th for their first school reunion.
They greeted one another with pleasure, sometimes recognising a person only by their name tag, as they had not been seen in the village for many years.
Everyone enjoyed a convivial afternoon exchanging memories of the ‘good old days’ of strict discipline and formal teaching. There were many tales of mischief too. Staff were represented by two retired teachers, a dinner lady, canteen helper and caretaker - all part of the old school community.
Bernie Evans - Bernadette Matthews when she was at school - organised the event, and promises another one in two years’ time. Greetings were received from former head, Dick Brice. Donations for St Michael’s Hospice amounted to £160.
