THIS year’s revived Ross-on-Wye Carnival was a roaring success, event organisers have revealed after reviewing the initial feedback.

The committee behind the carnival have thanked everyone who took part and attended and supported the return of the carnival following an absence of six years.

A spokesperson for the Ross Town Council and its organisers said: “It was fantastic to see our town filled with so many smiling faces on carnival Saturday.

“Now we begin planning for the possibility of a Carnival in 2027 and we'd love to hear your feedback.

“Whether you have suggestions, compliments, or ideas for improvement, we'd really appreciate you sharing your thoughts in the comments below, by emailing [email protected].

“All feedback received will be greatly appreciated and carefully considered during our carnival debrief meeting.

“Your comments will help us evaluate this year's event and make improvements should the carnival return in 2027, ensuring it continues to grow and be enjoyed by the whole community.”

Councillors Daniel Lister and Katie Fowler have talked for so long about bringing the carnival back to our wonderful town, and this year, they finally had the chance to make it happen.

They said: “When you work so hard on an event—especially the first one—you can't help but worry. Are people going to come? Did we advertise enough? We were quite literally up all night the night before!

“But when we saw the costumes on carnival day, it completely melted the stress away and just made us smile and laugh.

“As the parade set off, we saw a few people along Cantilupe Road, a few more on Gloucester Road, and then we reached the Market House. It was absolutely packed with people. This completely made our day.

All being well the next carnival will be on Saturday, August 7 – as always, the first Saturday in August.
