THOSE attending Ross-on-Wye’s ‘Outdoor Cinema’ at the Bandstand this Saturday, are being advised to bring a blanket or a chair so they can enjoy the film under the stars.

The film, the Greatest Showman has been chosen by the local community to be screened at this year’s outdoor movie night.

The event is hosted by Ross Town Council, now in its second year is being staged on Saturday, August 15 and admission is free.

Alongside the entertainment, which features the showtunes This Is Me’, ‘Never Enough’ and ‘A Million Dreams’, there’ll be yummy treats from Chock Shop and Tempting to enjoy while you watch the movie.

Of the five film options put forward for screening saw 45 per cent of the public votes chose the film that follows Hugh Jackman as a showman and entertainer in the1800s.

The Greatest Showman was released in 2017 and is directed by Michael Gracey from a screenplay by Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon.

It is based on an original story by Bicks. The other film stars include Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, and Zendaya.

The film features nine original songs and is a heavily fictionalised depiction of the life of P. T. Barnum, a showman and entertainer who created the Barnum & Bailey Circus, and its star attractions.

The film’s screening is scheduled for an 8:45pm start. Everyone is welcome to attend as the event is free to attend and there is no need to book. So sit back and enjoy a fantastic film with all the family and celebrates the birth of show business as the film tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.
