Croquet player Richard Wainman won the Veterans Tournament at Hurlingham in London last week, for the second year running.
The tournament consists of six matches against different opponents over three days. Each match lasts over three hours and Richard won every single one. He said that the lawns at Hurlingham were fantastic and the weather glorious, except for high winds nearly sending balls into the River Thames.
Richard lives in Upton Bishop and hones his skill playing Croquet regularly in Herefordshire with farming friends. He is also a member of Cheltenham Croquet Club.
