The members of Roaring Megs Community Choir were delighted, and proud, to be able to present £900 to the Friends of Ross Hospital recently.

This money was raised during successful festive concerts in Goodrich, which they organised together with Goodrich Primary School, and at Glewstone Court Hotel, in December last year.

Liz Bloxham, secretary of The Roaring Megs Community Choir told the Ross Gazette: “The concerts were really well received and we are delighted to have raised £900 for our local community hospital. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed so generously.”

Jill Davies, Chair of the Friends of Ross Hospital told the Gazette that the charity is delighted to receive the money from the Roaring Megs and thanked them for their support.

The Roaring Megs Community Choir, whose musical director is George Banks-Martin, was formed in Goodrich, Herefordshire in 2010.

It is a friendly, fun loving, four part choir and has steadily grown in numbers each year. No auditions are required and it warmly welcomes new members. They meet every Monday at 8pm in Goodrich Village Hall.

Over the past five years the community choir has made a name for itself with its vibrant and eclectic performances, singing in the local area and donating monies to local charities.
