The Rope Walk Play Ground project has been promised its first cash donation from Sainsburys Ross-on- Wye. Richard Mayo reported:?"A donation of £300, which is very much appreciated, and also the promise of some volunteers when we need them."
The Ross Gazette has also donated £150 to the scheme which is gathering momentum as more people join the Facebook group and come up with ideas for developing the area.
Richard Mayo and Andrew Atkinson visited Ashfield Park School to talk to pupils in Year 5 about the Rope Walk last week.
The youngsters are working on a project comparing the Rope Walk with the King George V play area in Hereford which they have also visited.
There was a public meeting on Monday, September 10th at the Rope Walk. Richard explained that he had met with three playground designers and Amelia Quinlan of HVA who specialises in helping playgrounds. He is also in discussion with Clare Wichbole from Herefordshire Council who gives advice on grants.
