Ross-on-Wye 5 - Tewkesbury 10
After two straight wins on the bounce, Ross Rugby Club 1st XV players were confident of extending their unbeaten run against mid-table Tewkesbury, last Saturday. However, after a hard fought encounter Tewkesbury prevailed, winning 10 - 5.
The first half hour was dominated by a dogged Tewkesbury pack who were able to strangle Ross of any meaningful possession. When Ross did break free they invariably fell the wrong side of the referee's whistle and subsequently handed possession and territory back to Tewkesbury.
It was from one of these penalties that Tewkesbury took the lead. After securing lineout possession ten yards out, the Tewkesbury second row ploughed over from five yards out. Their fullback converted and they were 7 - 0 ahead.
