The Ross Action Bus is a familiar sight around the town as it takes the elderly or disabled on shopping trips or out for day trips. Weather permitting, and thanks to the various willing drivers and companions, the Bus will continue to go out on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month for shopping trips to Morrison’s.

There are also regular outings which take place on Saturdays and Sundays and the RAB Committee would be delighted to arrange more but, like many other organisations, they could do with some more volunteers, both drivers and companions.

The charity has always been extremely well supported by the Ross community and when it was the Ross Gazette’s Charity of the Year a huge sum of money was raised to enable a new bus to be purchased. There are regular fundraising events and appeals held through the year.

The President of the Ross Action Bus Committee, Rosemary Rigby, was delighted when a previous appeal for help resulted in a telephone call from a husband and wife who were very keen to volunteer. However, Miss Rigby told the Ross Gazette that the number they left for her to contact them is not correct. She would love to speak to them but all she knows is the gentleman is called Evans with a Welsh sounding Christian name, possibly Ieuan or Ioan.

If you know who this could be, or if you wish to volunteer as a driver or companion please call Miss Rigby on 01981 540477.
