At this time of crisis and the affect Covid-19 is having on all our lives here at the Ross Gazette we have had to act swiftly to ensure our readers are still able to get hold of our newspapers.
We have introduced major changes this week which affect the papers in Wales and Borders including the Gazette, the Forester, the Monmouthshire Beacon and the Abergavenny Chronicle which was turned from a broadsheet to a tabloid overnight.
We want to ensure The Ross Gazette is the first port of call for trusted local news and hope our readers will continue to tell us what is going on in our towns and villages.
Your support for our newspapers at this difficult time and for all local businesses would be appreciated.
We are having to bring in news from across the region as well as Ross but this is a temporary solution to a national crisis and we will revert back once we are working normally with our reporters able to go back into the office in Ross.
Communities across our readership are forming essential groups to ensure the elderly, lonely and vulnerable residents have a point of contact where they can turn to for help and we applaud all your efforts.
We want to help as much as we can so please send us your group’s contact information and we’ll publish in the paper and on our website.
Our politicians have sent us messages of support as they recognise the important role local newspapers play when we are all dealing with a crisis never seen before and while we all do our best to get through these unprecedented times.
We can all help each other, stay in touch and stay safe. Please email the editor Gina Robertson - [email protected]
