After consultations with the Ross Library Development Group committee, the prospective speaker and Ross Library representatives, next week’s Ross Library Development Group event with Ross Gazette reporter, Marsha O’Mahony, has been cancelled.

Clare Llewellyn West, Chair of the Ross Library Development Group, told the Ross Gazette: "The cancellation of yesterday’s launch of Gilpin 2020 at St Mary’s and of the Mayor’s Ball on Saturday do suggest caution.

"So, recognising our responsibility to our members and attendees and to the library staff, we have decided to cancel.

"Like many of you I have been looking forward enormously to Marsha’s talk, which I knew would be terrific, so you will be pleased to know that she has promised to do an event for us later in the year."
