Ross Lions were delighted when they were asked to collect a donation towards their Christmas Day Lunch from Fritz Fryer Lighting. The well-known lighting company, based in Station Street Ross, had decided to make a charitable donation based on their ‘Black Friday’ sales. Between November 20th and December 2nd, Fritz Fryer donated £10 for every sale and Lions President, Keith Wilding, was pleased to collect the cheque donation from owners Karen and Simon Wallis-Smith.

Keith said: “The Christmas Day lunch is a long-standing and valued tradition in Ross on Wye. It is run by volunteers, funded by Lions and organised by EnviroAbility. Help the Aged and other local groups also get involved so it is a real community event .“

Marketing Team Callum Howells and Zoe Element said: “What an amazing thing you are all doing,” and the rest of the Fritz Fryer team were pleased to gather around for a photo to show their support.

The Christmas Day lunch is open to anyone who would like to join in and not be on their own on Christmas Day. Anyone who is unable, through age or ill-health, to get to the Larruperz Centre can have a meal delivered to their home by Lions and other volunteers. If you know of anyone who would like to join, please contact Paula at Enviroability on 01989 763388.
