The cakes have risen, the kettle’s on and that means it’s ‘Time for a Cuppa’ at Ross Meeting Centre, Christ Church, Edde Cross Street, on March 7th 2018, 11:00am – 1:00pm.
Ross Meeting Centre and Young Dementia Herefordshire are one of many groups throughout the UK organising a ‘Time for a Cuppa’ party for Dementia UK, the charity supporting families affected by dementia through their specialist Admiral Nurses.
Admiral Nurses provide the specialist dementia support that families need. When things get challenging or difficult, Admiral Nurses work alongside families affected by dementia, giving them one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions, helping families face dementia with more confidence and less fear.
Their invitation is for anyone to attend. There will be a Raffle and Cake Stall as well as drinks and cakes.
Anne Parsons, RMC administrator, says: “Time for a Cuppa is a lovely opportunity to spend time with friends and family, while raising funds for Admiral Nurses. Looking after somebody with dementia can be very challenging, and Admiral Nurses help the entire family cope. Since the Ross Meeting Centre opened a year ago, we have seen how important it is to support carers as well as providing a stimulating and enjoyable environment for people with demetia.”
Dr. Hilda Hayo, Chief Admiral Nurse at Dementia UK said: “A diagnosis of dementia can be frightening and isolating, for the person but for their family too. ‘Time for a Cuppa’ is all about spending time with the people we care about, while fundraising for more Admiral Nurses to support these families. I’m very grateful to Ross Meeting Centre and Young Dementia Herefordshire for holding a tea party and helping us bring this life-changing support to even more people.”
There are currently 217 Admiral Nurses working across England, Scotland and Wales and Dementia UK’s target is to have 300 in place by 2020.
