The Annual General Meeting of the Ross Walking Group was held on March 22nd at the Ross Golf Club. It was preceded by a walk on local lanes and footpaths, and followed by a buffet lunch.

Chairman, Martin Hudson, spoke of all the walking and social activities that had taken place over the course of the year. A walking weekend in Dolgellau was a great success, despite taking place during the ferocity of Storm Brian. There was also the Christmas Round the Houses, the New Year’s walk, a BBQ walk, a skittles evening, and a film about a long distance walk.

The membership stands at 104 and members participated in 84 walks varying in distance from under five to over nine miles, and graded according to difficulty. Locations of the walks were the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains, the River Wye, the Cotswolds, canals, forests and town trails. The walks were led and co-led by 51 different members.

Committee members were elected for the following year and all were thanked for their hard work. Special thanks was given to Paula Czepek who had completed her three year term as secretary.
