Stuart Harrold, President of Ross and District Motor Sports Club presented a cheque for £150, on behalf of the club, to Nigel Warwick for the Severn Freewheelers Blood Bikers.
Nigel gave a very interesting talk about the Club’s voluntary service for the NHS.
This is a non-profit making charity, providing a free at point of service motorcycle courier facility to all hospitals in the catchment area of Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and North Wiltshire, between the hours of 7pm to 7am. The service operates all year around and also all day on Bank Holidays and at weekends.
At present they average some 4,000 call outs covering 150,000 miles and helping the NHS to makes savings of about £200,000 a year.
