Members of the Ross Church Tower Bellringers rang ‘Ladies Only Rounds’ in honour of the suffragettes on Tuesday, February 6th.
It was to mark 100 years since some women were granted the right to vote, you had to be a property owner, or married to a man who owned property, and over the age of 30.
The Votes for Women Centenary exhibition at HARC in Herefordshire runs until February 23rd.
The exhibition includes a picture of a suffrage meeting in St Peter’s Square. Emmeline and Christabel Pankhurst also visited Hereford in 1908 when the Herefordshire bi-election was a high point for suffrage activity.
