The annual Christmas Carnival drove into Ross once again this year. This popular local tradition marks the start of the festive season for many families, and despite the torrential rain and high winds in the hours before Santa arrived there was still a good crowd waiting to cheer for him as he arrived on a sleigh complete with reindeer. He was joined by several friends including the Carnival Princess and the Prince who rode on a separate float.

Ross Town Band had played Christmas Carols in the run up to Father Christmas’ arrival and there was a lovely friendly atmosphere as people enjoyed this free event which has been taking place in Ross for at least 50 years.

Thankfully Father Christmas was able to shelter under the Market House to welcome the children who waited patiently to have their pictures taken and tell him their Christmas wishes.
