The Ross-on-Wye Christmas Fayre has been recognised at the Great British Market Awards 2024.

The fayre took home the Highly Commended Award for Best Large Speciality Market at the awards ceremony which took place in Birmingham on Thursday, January 25.

This was the first time the event, organised by Ross-on-Wy Town Council, had been nominated and was up against several large markets from around the UK.

The joint winners of the Large Speciality Market category were York Christmas Market and Stratford upon Avon Victorian Christmas Market.

Ross-on-Wye Town Council’s Community Development Officer, Charlotte Reynolds and Councillor Daniel Lister attended the event to collect the award.

Charlotte said: “A huge amount of work is involved in organising the Christmas Fayre, and every year the event is growing in size and is attracting more visitors. We were absolutely thrilled that the fayre has received national recognition.”

The Great British Market Awards 2024 celebrated the outstanding contributions of markets to local communities, regeneration, and tourism over the past year and was hosted by the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA).
