FAMILIES in Ross-on-Wye will be able to enjoy a series of free activities during the October half-term, with storytelling, outdoor play and art all on offer.
Ross-on-Wye Town Council has announced three days of events taking place across the town from Tuesday, October 27 to Friday, October 30, with families invited to simply turn up and take part without booking.
The programme will begin on Tuesday, October 27 with two book reading sessions at Ross Library.
Suzan Alderton will lead the first session from 10am until 11am, before Tracy Lee May hosts a second reading from 2pm until 3pm.
Activities will then move outdoors on Wednesday, October 28, when a WildPlay session will be held at Caroline Symonds Gardens, close to the bandstand.
Running from 10am until noon, the event will give youngsters an opportunity to get outdoors and explore nature through a range of activities.
Families attending are advised to dress for messy play and bring waterproof clothing if rain is forecast.
The half-term programme will conclude on Friday, October 30 with two drop-in illustration workshops at the Town Hall on Cantilupe Road.
The workshops, which are recommended for children of junior school age and upwards, will take place from 10am until 11am and again from noon until 1pm.
Organisers said the programme had been designed to offer something for families with different interests, ranging from books and storytelling to nature and creative activities.
Ross-on-Wye Town Council said: “Looking for something fun to do with the family this half term? Ross-on-Wye Town Council has a fantastic selection of free activities.”
All of the activities are free to attend and there is no requirement to book a place in advance, with families able to turn up at the relevant venue and join in on the day.
