Throughout the summer, Ross Baptist Church has been hosting an imaginative programme for local families. Following their well-established holiday club, the Venue has been open each Wednesday for the Team Café and this week the volunteers and families welcomed the Mayor, Councillor Jane Roberts.
The scheme was developed by Carol Soble, a pastor with the church. Carol explained: “We discovered that most weekly activities stop during August and families struggle to find something they can go to together. Many “just manage”, providing meals and entertaining children in August really stretches family budgets. The Team Café is free, under cover and available to local families, on a walk-in basis”
The Team Café is wholly funded by Ross Baptist Church and provides a safe social space with activities for families with children aged 0-11 - bouncy Castle, messy play, toddler room, Discovery zone, uniform freecycle, quiet areas, and more.Carol said: “As a Christian faith community we want to bless our neighbours, give generously and provide hospitality through the Team Café. I’m very proud of the team of 25 volunteers whose dedication makes Team Café possible and pleased that the Mayor was able to join us.” See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
