A memorial to one of the family of the founders of long standing Ross business, William Bevan Funeral Directors, was smashed by a vehicle recently.

Niki Swallow, of Bevans, told the Ross Gazette the planter was a memorial to Ann Bevan who died nine years ago.

She said:?“We were all very distressed to see that a vehicle had reversed into it and smashed it.”

She added that they waited a few days to see if the motorist who had caused the damage made any attempt to apologise or deal with the damage they had done.

Niki said:?“As we have heard nothing we are appealing to the Gazette to help. If anyone knows who caused the damage to the box please call into Bevans and let me know.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
