MODEL railway enthusiasts and families travelled from near and far to enjoy a spectacular two-day model railway exhibition organised by the Ross-on-Wye Rotary Club.

Held at John Kyrle High School, the exhibition brought together 25 exhibitors, showcasing an impressive variety of working model railway layouts and other highly detailed models.

Among the attractions was a fascinating model of Bristol Harbour, recreated in miniature with remarkable attention to detail.

Visitors could also admire a Mercedes-Benz garage, adding to the variety of displays and demonstrating that the exhibition offered much more than trains alone.

The working layouts featured trains winding their way through miniature landscapes, detailed stations and busy scenes, capturing the imagination of visitors young and old.

Enthusiasts travelled to see the displays, while families enjoyed the opportunity to discover the skill, creativity and craftsmanship behind the models.

Rail transport modelling uses a variety of scales (the ratio between the real world and the model) to ensure scale models look correct when placed next to each other.

On display in Ross were a number of differing modelling standards including the OO and N gauges.

There was also plenty to keep everyone refreshed, with a popular barbecue and a tempting selection of delicious cakes available throughout the weekend.

The exhibition was not only a celebration of modelling and a chance for enthusiasts to share their passion, but also an opportunity to raise money for good causes.

All proceeds will go to the Ross Rotary Club charity fund, which supports a range of worthwhile local causes and community projects.

The Rotary Club thanked all the exhibitors, volunteers and visitors who helped make the two-day event such a success.

Their support ensured that a weekend full of fascinating models, family entertainment and railway nostalgia will also help make a positive difference in the wider community.
