Following an article in the Ross Gazette two weeks ago, a number of residents have responded to the Local Green Space questionnaire and others have asked what sites are currently being consulted on.
Residents living adjacent to the following sites have received questionnaires about existing open spaces that have been proposed for designation as ‘Open Green Spaces’: Roman Way/Archenfield Road, Redwood Close, Redhill Road/Hawthorne Lane, Greytree Road, Fernbank Road (paddock), Mayhill Road, Merrivale Lane (paddock) and Falaise Close.
Also proposed for designation, but for which questionnaire distribution has not yet started, have been Cleeve Orchard, Duxmere Drive and Bluebell/Primrose Close.
Additional suggestions are welcome; they need to be for small areas that could be built upon but which are important to a local community and that are special or distinctive in terms of (any or all of) beauty, wildlife, history, recreation or tranquillity.
To get them through the demanding planning process is tough, so demonstrable local support is essential.
To suggest, support or oppose a possible Local Green Space, either collect a form from Ross Town Council, Corn Exchange, 7 High Street, Ross-on-Wye, HR9 5HL (completed forms can also be returned there), request a form via email to Melvin Reynolds, [email protected], on Facebook @RoWNdP, or at the Plan’s Consulting You website
