Rebekha Flynn, known as Becky, who is almost at her fundraising target for the British Heart Foundation, was thrilled to be presented with a cheque for £600 on Monday, February 13th.

Becky’s brother, Jonathan Phillips, died very suddenly in 2015 of an undiagnosed heart condition and Becky has been fundraising in his memory. She has organised several events in Ross, including a Santa Fun Run, and a Just Giving Facebook page, and is now just a few hundred pounds short of her £5,000 target.

The latest contribution was made by Vicki Page, Iris Price and Dawn Ridge from Ross Pre-School Playgroup, who organised a Christmas Shopping Event.

This raised £400 and a further £200 was made thanks to a charity lunch at Bridstow School.

Vicki told the Ross Gazette that they particularly wanted to do something to help a local charity and as Jonathan and Becky’s father, Les, is caretaker at the Larruperz Centre, they wanted to show their support for all Becky’s efforts.
