At its last meeting at the Chase Hotel on Monday, July 1st, and just before moving to its new home at The Castle Lodge Hotel in Wilton, Ross Rotary Club members handed out donation cheques to four of the local causes the Club decided to support this year.
This was the final meeting in President Philip Dazeley’s year, and his last task as President was to present cheques to Enviroability, Ross Community Garden, Ross Men’s Shed and Severn Area Rescue Association.
Several other local national and organisations have also been sent donations, bringing the total given during Philip’s year to over £12,000, including nearly £3500 to Kisiki College in Namatumba, Ross’ twin town in Uganda, to fund refurbishment of the science block there.
These donations were mainly funded through money raised from the Ross community in activities that club members and helpers took part in throughout the year, as well as individual donations from members.
Ross Rotary is keen to welcome new members and help more people. For more information visit rossrotary.com.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
