Ross Rural Parish Council is paying to have a temporary Speed Indicator Device installed on the A40 at Hildersley, opposite the Fire Station.
The Council has elected to have a permanent concrete base installed on the grass verge and will hire the speed indicator, which lights up when speeding vehicles approach.
It follows a discussion on the problem of the speed of traffic through Hildersley which had been reported to the Council.
Councillor Julie Tyler said a speed data collection survey had revealed that some vehicles were found to be travelling more than 60mph through the area that the Council had arranged for the hire of the device in order to deter speeding.
At their meeting last Wednesday, Ross Rural Parish Council also decided that it will work with Ross Town Council to prepare a joint neighbourhood plan.
