The efforts of Ross Seniors Captain, Patrick Curtis to deliver a successful Annual Away Day for Ross Seniors were richly rewarded when the Belmont Golf Club was the venue and enhanced by ideal weather conditions for golf. 48 Ross Seniors supported the event with 28 of them returning home with prizes for their achievements. It was somewhat appropriate as well, that the Ross Seniors 2008 Skipper Tim Rigden, who has contributed significantly in recent years to the section's effectiveness should be the top performer on the day. Tim's 39 stableford points score won him the top prize with Gordon Brigg being the runner-up with 38 points. They were followed by Frank Gallagher and Neville Ovens who both carded 37 points and Patrick Curtis and Geoff Baker with 36 points each and Brian Clouder with 35 points.

In the Club's 3rd round of the 2009 Layton Cup for Seniors, former Gloucester and Bath Rugby Club celebrated player, Terry Hopson showed that he could still hit the headlines when his exceptional 44 stableford points total earned him the No 1 spot in the final results table with 78 Ross Seniors taking part. Terry Watts had to settle for the runners-up position with 43 points and other creditable scores were recorded by David Thrower and Frank Gallagher with 42 points each, Peter Landau with 41 points and John Hebdon, John Allen and Roy Jones with 40 points each. In their latest series of Summer friendly matches there was an unexpected defeat for the Ross Seniors squad by 6 points to 2 points when they visited the Cirencester Club, with the only winning pair of Clarkson Barclay/Geoff Baker 2/1 and halved match results by John Palmer/Bob Cooper & Tim Rigden/David Thower able to play to their full potential. A winning performance was achieved a few days later when the Herefordshire Seniors were the visitors and Ross point scorers, Patrick Curtis/Malcolm Thornton 3/1, Neville Ovens/Gerald Turner and Frank Gallagher/David Thrower both 5/4 winners and Peter Spacey/David Rees 5/3, David Whitehead/Don Punnett 2 up and a halved match by Brian Clouder/Fred Stott ensured a convincing 5.5 points to 2.5 points win for the Ross Club.

In the Club's June Medal event with 111 members taking part, Geoff Thomas delivered the performance of a lifetime when his net 65 medal score saw him finish in top spot. In Division 1 Chris Taylor with a net 66 was second followed by Steve Wallbank and Ross Junior, Jake Howells with net 68s, Martin Lloyd and Kevin French with net 69s and Andrew Stephens with a net 70. In Handicap Division 2 the net 69 recorded by Charles Taylor headed the list, followed by John Allen, who is enjoying a marvellous season with net 70, Chris Good net 71, and Lee Cartwright with a net 72.

Terry Jarrett Captain of the Club's B Team squad will have been pleased to have got the better of the Worcestershire B Team by 4 points to 2, when they visited the Ross Course with Terry Jarrett/ Danny Gear 2/1, Kevin D'Lonra/Dave Ruff 3/2, Richard Kirk/Bill Day 1 up and Gary Moyle/Peter James 2/1 providing the winning points. When the Club's C team under the stewardship of C Team Captain, Bob Timms were guests of the Worcestershire C Team, the Ross team suffered a 4 points to 2 defeat with only Terry Hopson/Graham Collins 3/2 and Eric Stephens/Paul Reynaert 3/2 able to contribute to the Ross Scoresheet.
