SEVERAL Ross students are exhibiting their work at Hereford Art College's end of course Foundation Diploma show in Art and Design. The course is designed to give students the opportunity to learn through discovery and exploration. Many students at the show have already won places at colleges across the UK.

At a private viewing on May 20th, the Gazette caught up with Joseph Adams and Alexander Naylor, whose work was on show and who are both from Ross.

Alexander Naylor went to JKHS and is a member of Xcentricity. He has won a place at Wimbledon College of Art to study fine art with print and time based media in September. He isn't, however, giving up on a career in performing arts. He is also a member of National Youth music theatre and just a week after the Royal Wedding was performing for the Queen. At the reception afterwards he met not only the Queen but Dame Helen Mirren as well. "It was amazing," said Alexander. He will soon be performing in Kingston to take part in the International youth festival, that celebrates young people in performing arts.

Joseph Adams, a former pupil of St Joseph's, makes vast interactive sculptures, creating atmospheric pieces for social spaces. This summer he plans to make similar pieces at festivals, including Hay, before leaving for South America to travel for a few months.

Zoe Element and Amy Savage from Ross, also have work on show. The exhibition ends on May 25th at 7pm.
