A JAM-PACKED schedule of this year’s events has just been released by Ross-on-Wye Town Council, which are aimed at residents and visitors alike.

The Thursday and Saturday markets continue every week at the Market House, with several speciality and seasonal markets added into the mix.

Following the recent Easter Market, Vegan Fairs will return to the town centre in mid-June offering a great opportunity for people to explore new foods and products.

The Bands in the Park series of free outdoor concerts returns on Sunday afternoons from May 17 and runs until September 6, between 2.30pm and 4.30pm, at the bandstand, just bring a chair or blanket.

The highlight of these concerts is the Proms in the Park, which is being staged on Sunday, July 19 between 2pm and 7.30pm.

But the council hasn’t stopped there as it has taken over the organisation of Ross Carnival which returns on August 1 and features walking entries parading through the town centre followed by entertainment at the Rope Walk.

And for the first year ever, Caroline Symonds Gardens, adjacent to the bandstand, will welcome ParkYoga with free yoga sessions.

The sessions will run on Sunday mornings from May 3 through to September 13 between 9.30am and 10.30am, just bring a mat or blanket to the session, which is being led by local instructor Aleksandra Woodland.

Following the success of last year’s screening of the ‘Wicked’ film another outdoor film screening is planned for Saturday, August 15 at Caroline Symonds Gardens with the movie itself being decided by a public vote.

In the pipeline are activities connected with the school’s half term break in the week commencing Monday, October 26.

Christmas markets are being held on December 5 and 12 between 9am and 2.30pm.

The year of events in Ross concludes with the Christmas Fayre and light switching-on ceremony on Sunday, November 29.
