The ownership of Homs Road car park in Ross-on-Wye has transferred to Ross Town Council on Wednesday, October 18th.
The car park will be decommissioned as a council car park once the transfer has taken place and Ross Town Council will use the car park as a depot base for their maintenance activities and vehicles.
Mrs Sarah Robson, clerk to Ross Town Council said: “Homs Road car park has been under used for many years and car parking provision elsewhere in Ross has been generally more popular.
“The transfer of ownership is good news for the town as we can ensure that the site is used for greater benefit to the local community.”
Ross and Monmouth Sea Cadets have been hoping to move their equipment to the Homs Road car park once it is in the ownership of Ross Town Council.
Once all the leases have been agreed and the paperwork is in place this should happen within the month.
