Ross-on-Wye Town Council are looking into taking on another asset from Herefordshire County Council.
The Town Council has approved a request to Herefordshire Council for the transfer of Homs Road Car Park under its Community Asset Transfer Scheme.
Homs Road Car Park was one of the car parks that was previously included in the Prospectus the Town Council published in 2014, along with a number of other assets including the Market House, Old Chapel, two toilet blocks, the market and a number of open spaces.
The transfer of car parks did not proceed at that time as Herefordshire Council wanted compensation for the loss of revenue but the new proposal would see the transfer going ahead without any money being paid to Herefordshire Council.
A Public Notice in July offered local residents the opportunity to view the plans. The Town Council is seeking comments and feedback from local residents. A copy of the Business Plan outlining the proposal for future use is available on the Town Council’s website at www.rosstc-herefordshire.gov.uk.
