This scheme, established in 2014 by the Ministry of Defence. celebrates employers which demonstrate exceptional support for defence personnel, that including veterans, reservists, service leavers, cadet force adult volunteers, and military families, within the workplace, going above and beyond covenant pledges.
Receiving the silver award reflects the town council’s continuous dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for members of the Armed Forces
community by recognising the valuable contribution they make to our society through their skills, experience, and dedication to their local area.
It is open to all veterans, serving personnel transitioning to civilian life, and their families or carers.
A spokesperson for Ross Town Council said: “Receiving the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award is an important milestone for us. We’re proud of the support we offer to the armed forces community and see this as part of our ongoing commitment to championing veterans, reservists and military families in the workplace. We look forward to building on this in the years ahead.”
Ross Town Council remains committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and strengthening the partnerships and services available to veterans locally.
