Ross victory is their best result of season ROSS TOWN 1sts made the journey to face tough opposition, Bromyard Town, who lie second in the league on Saturday. With several games in hand Bromyard could go top and they were also in fine form having lost only one league game since August. Town knew they were going to be in for a tough afternoon, but producing arguably their best performance of the season, they came away with a 1 nil victory.

Town welcomed back Greg Burford and Casey Morgan allowing Adam Bridges to slot into the back three. Spud Jenkins pushed forward into his usual

midfield role. Town started well, knocking the ball around with confidence, hardly allowing the home side a touch of the ball. This caused Bromyard's defence all sorts of trouble with some clever play. Ten minutes had gone when a delightful through ball by Chris Davies allowed Halfpenny to break free. He squared the ball for Lee Walker to prod it home. However celebrations were cut short when to everyone's amazement the linesman flagged for offside. This did not stop Town pushing forward looking for the first goal. They did not have to wait long. With 20 minutes on the clock, a ball down the wing by Jenkins released Wooding, he ran at the home defence with pace, and squared the ball to Halfpenny, who calmly slotted home from the edge of the box to put Town 1 up. Although the home side started to

come back into the game their chances were limited to long range shots thanks to some outstanding defending by Morgan, Bridges and Burford, and the scored stayed 1- 0 at half time.
