The committee of Ross Library Development Group (RLDG) had a pleasant surprise this week when Stewart Ross of the Ross-on-Wye Rotary Club turned up at their committee meeting to present them with a cheque for £100.
The current chair of RLDG, Jan Falkiner, and Marketing Manager, Clare Llewellyn West, gave a talk to the Rotary Club about the work of the group earlier in the year in which they described the three main strands of the work of RLDG – fundraising, raising awareness of the use of the library as a community facility and campaigning for the preservation and extension of library services.
Clare told the Ross Gazette: “The whole committee was delighted by the cheque – and even more by the fact that the Rotary Club recognise the importance of what we are doing.”
