The Herefordshire Branch of the Samaritans offers anyone going through difficult times in their lives, a safe and confidential place to explore their feelings.
Since the new Free Call Telephone service 116 123 started, the call rate to the Herefordshire Branch of the Samaritans has increased dramatically from 850 to 2,3500 calls per month. In order to accommodate this huge increase, they urgently need more funds.
The Friends of Samaritans are holding their biannual Christmas Fair at the Chase Hotel on November 9th.
Amongst many items on sale there will also be signed copies of Quentin Lett’s latest highly acclaimed book, ‘Patronising Bastards’ (on how the ‘elite’ betrayed Britain), which would make a super stocking filler!
Your support for this special event would be greatly appreciated, or alternatively, you could help by sending a donation to The Treasurer, Herefordshire Samaritans, 44a Berrington Street, Hereford, HR4 0BJ.
Herefordshire Samaritans is run by unpaid volunteers who are the backbone of the service. With the increase in calls, they need more volunteers. If you feel like you would like to help but feel you might not be very good, you are possibly just the person we are looking for, please write to the Selection Secretary at the address above.
