Everyone in the country it seems is waiting to hear the full extent of the cuts in public spending that the government will announce in October.

Some Ross residents are all ready aware of how they will be affected by the cuts. One elderly lady has written to the paper and her MP asking if there is anyway cuts to the Lifestyle support worker service can be avoided.

She relies on a support worker visiting her for three hours a week and accompanying her while she goes shopping as, due to her age she cannot manage to go out alone. She wonders if the cuts mean she will :?"Have to stay inside these four walls for the rest of my days?"

It is only a matter of a few weeks before the coalition Government unveils its Comprehensive Spending Review and the Ross Gazette would like to know if local businesses feel Ross is in a strong enough position to face more difficult economic conditions. Are there local people, who will be hit hard by planned cuts to tax credits or benefit?

If you are concerned about the prospect of the cuts or if you feel that they are necessary for long term prosperity please contact the Ross Gazette and vote in our web poll.
