They started the process on the previous day at the nearby Goodrich Greenspace, a meadow rich in wildflowers, which they cut. The resulting hay was then raked and carried to Pool Ellocks.
Reserves Officer, Doug Lloyd, told the Ross Gazette:?“Old orchards are naturally great wildlife habitats and support declining species such as the noble chafer beetle. Creating a wildflower meadow beneath the trees is an added bonus for pollinating insects – and should look pretty spectacular too!”
